About Us

Our Story:

Seven Star Coffee is a coffee brand based out of Durham, NC.  We are family owned and operated, and have a personal connection to every one of our customers.

Seven Star Coffee is named after the group of stars called the Pleiades, which is a group of seven stars in the northwestern part of the Taurus constellation.  These stars are also represented on Durham's city flag, where we also get some of our brand colors from.  Durham is known as Bull City, further solidifying its ties to the constellation Taurus.

The stars on the Durham city flag (shown above) also represent the seven major elements of Durham's story:

Our Goal:

I grew up as a coffee lover - I've been drinking coffee since I was about ten years old - but I started to grow frustrated with the coffee I had access to.  The options seemed to be either the absolute cheapest grocery store tub of coffee, the more expensive, but kind of boring grocery store bag of coffee, or very expensive high-quality coffee that required fancy techniques and equipment to get the "real experience".

I wanted high quality coffee that I loved to drink, but that wasn't going to break the bank, and didn't require special equipment to enjoy.  I couldn't find that, so I decided to make it myself.

I specifically curate each coffee we sell to get coffees that provide a high-end cup, even if you use a regular old drip coffee machine (like I do).  By all means, you can use our coffee with higher end techniques to get the absolute most out of it, but we want to make absolutely sure that the average person can get a superior cup with regular brewing methods.

Subscriptions:

Subscribe and save!  We offer a subscription service for every one of our coffees, and you save 10% on every bag when you subscribe.  All you need to choose the subscription option and your preferred frequency when you add a coffee to your cart, and we'll take care of the rest.  You will then receive awesome coffee at your preferred interval, right to your front door.

You can also mix and match, if you want to keep your regular subscription and also order one bag of a special seasonal blend, you can easily do that.
