Honey Cinnamon Latte Recipe, Seven Star Coffee

The Best Honey Cinnamon Latte

This Honey Cinnamon Latte is my wife’s go-to year round specialty drink!  With no additional syrups or flavorings, this drink is a lot less sweet than almost anything you would get off the menu at Starbucks, which allows for the flavor of the coffee to shine through and be the real star!

For this recipe, I used Seven Star Coffee's Tanzania Single Origin Coffee because the subtle floral and fruity notes really come through, allowing you to enjoy a truly elevated cup of coffee.

I prefer to use Sourwood honey from the mountains of North Carolina for the extra buttery taste it brings to the cup, but any honey will do.  After all, it is the flavors from the coffee that are the centerpiece in this drink!

I used my Breville The Barista Express espresso machine to both grind the beans and brew my espresso, but as always, you do not need to use an espresso machine to make this drink - any strongly brewed coffee will work for this recipe!
Side note: ALWAYS warm your mug first when working with thick ingredients that need to melt and combine with the coffee!  Cold honey at the bottom of a mug won’t mix as well as warmed honey!
Honey Cinnamon Latte recipe from Seven Star Coffee 
  • 2 ounces espresso (or strongly brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (extra for garnish)
  1. Warm your mug by filling it half way with hot water and then emptying it.
  2. Put honey in the bottom of the warmed mug.
  3. Brew your espresso or coffee, and pour directly over the honey and stir for a few seconds. Then sprinkle ground cinnamon and stir again. 
  4. Add warmed frothed milk (click here to learn how to froth milk at home)
  5. Garnish with extra cinnamon on top if desired (putting the cinnamon that close to your nose while drinking will really push forward the cinnamon flavor)
  6. Enjoy!
